What to expect?

The unexpected. When you listen to a game or interview from 1934, 1944, 1954, or 1964 they are from a moment in time that dates make 50 – 90 years. The announcers will tell you things you never knew. The players will give you an interesting, candid point of view many times, especially the farther away they are from the game.

Audio Clarity

Not all audio is crisp; we can not change that. Unlike the current day when every word is recorded on dozens of devices and phones and forever saved, many of these games were recorded when radio was still an emerging technology. Games got recorded over, and the quality, especially in the 30’s through the 50’s, can be a challenge.

Content is evolving

The overall platform and experience are developing. Today you may go into a set of games and the only option is to listen to games. In 6 months, the games may have a roster, custom scoresheets, a pre and post-game dialog.

Who will you hear?

About 55% of the games are New York Based Games, Phil Rizzuto, Mel Allen Red Barber, Ralph Kiner, Bob Murphy will be most prominent.

You will also hear Vin Scully, Harry Caray, Ernie Harwell, Bob Prince, Don Elston, and Ty Tyson, to name a few. There will be many others along the way. If your goal is to listen to games called by a specific announcer or a specific player, those projects will be tackled in the future and announced throughout the community and through email. That said you can easily search the content for dates and teams.

Are all broadcasts full?

Not all games are full broadcasts, some games are partial and we noted them accordingly.
